Designed by architect Shubham Katyal (Katyal Architects), Neelaya turns a bedroom into a luxurious, palace-inspired retreat with a cozy modern feel. The room features beautiful curved Indian arches, detailed white plaster carvings, and blue-and-white floral patterns inspired by classic Jaipur prints.Rather than enclosing the layout, shubham Katyal employs fluted glass sliding partitions and beveled diamond-lattice mirror paneling to maintain visual permeability and bounce natural light across rich hardwood floors. A grand four-poster canopy bed serves as the primary focal element, dynamically balanced by jewel-toned velvet furnishings—a royal crimson tufted bench and an intimate mustard-yellow lounge alcove. Punctuated by Moroccan pierced lanterns, an ornate ceiling medallion, and a dramatic Baroque gilded mirror, the space demonstrates how historic vernacular motifs can be thoughtfully adapted to create a luxurious, light-filled modern sanctuary. The room effortlessly combines old-world royalty with comfortable everyday living.
